By providing shelters the resources necessary to get the Pitties adopted, we act as a force multiplier to target potential adopters and drive traffic to their shelters at no cost. Each year, 1.2 million dogs are euthanized, approximately 40% of whom are Pit Bulls. This means that nearly a half-million Pit Bull-type dogs are killed in shelters annually. Of all the common dog types that appear in shelters, Pit Bulls are by far the most likely to be euthanized, and only the third most likely to be adopted.

Kennel to Couch has received FOUR STARS from Charity Navigator which highlights that we exceed or meets best practices and industry standards across almost all areas. Likely to be a highly-effective charity.
The America’s Best Charities Seal of Excellence is awarded to charitable organizations that meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness. Applicant charities must provide evidence of their program activities and demonstrate the benefit of their services. They must submit for review their most recent IRS tax returns with all schedules. Charities with annual revenues above $250,000 must also submit audited financial statements produced by an independent certified public accountant, including an auditor’s opinion letter stating the charity meets the generally accepted accounting standards in the United States.
To reach the Platinum level, Kennel to Couch added extensive information to its GuideStar Nonprofit Profile: basic contact and organizational information; in-depth financial information; qualitative information about goals, strategies, and capabilities; and quantitative information about results and progress toward its mission. By taking the time to provide this information, Kennel to Couch has demonstrated its commitment to transparency and to giving donors and funders meaningful data to evaluate nonprofit performance.

ABLC’s mission is to organize and prepare our member charities for effective participation in at-work employee charitable fund drives, to screen and certify these charities to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria to participate in these fund drives, and to provide for the secure, accurate, and timely transmission of contributions from the fund drives to the recipient charities. And to do all the above as cost-effectively as possible consistent with delivering quality service.
